The Gottman Method is a structured, research-backed approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman over decades of studying what actually makes relationships work. Rather than just talking through problems, it uses specific tools to help partners manage conflict, rebuild friendship and intimacy, and create shared meaning. It's built on more than 40 years of research with over 3,000 couples.
-
Yes — that's a big part of why I practice it. The method comes out of decades of observational research on real couples, which is unusual in the therapy world. It gives us a clear, tested framework for understanding where a relationship is struggling and what tends to help, rather than relying on intuition alone. You can read more about the research directly at gottman.com.

Certification is the highest level of Gottman training, and it's different from simply taking a Gottman workshop. To certify, I completed all three levels of coursework plus a supervised clinical practicum under a Senior Gottman Therapist, and demonstrated competency using Gottman assessments and treatment protocols. It means you're working with someone trained deeply in both the science and the real-world application of the method.

Yes. I offer Gottman Method couples therapy online to clients who live in or are physically located in Texas. Online sessions make it possible to do this work from anywhere in the state, whether you're in Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, Houston, or a smaller community without a nearby Gottman therapist.

It depends on what you're working through and your goals — every couple is different, so I build a treatment plan around yours. Some couples do ongoing weekly online sessions; others choose a 2-day intensive to make focused progress quickly and then taper to occasional check-ins. We'll talk through what makes sense for your situation on a free consultation call.

Yes. Repairing trust after infidelity is one of the areas the Gottman Method addresses directly, and I have advanced Gottman training in treating affairs and trauma. Healing after betrayal takes real work, but it is possible, and the method gives us a structured path for rebuilding.
